Etch makes a lasting impression
A subtly textured cut and loop pile carpet tile from Tessera is one of three consistent design elements running throughout the meticulously renovated Sandbach offices and design studios of national interior solutions provider, Workplace by Design.
Pristine white walls, architectural feature lighting, and Etch carpet tiles in Solder, a deep smoky grey, provide a consistent backcloth to the company’s new North West premises, transformed from a 400-year old wine warehouse into a contemporary workspace for the growing team of interior designers and project managers.
Director Brian Lowdon said: “In recent years we’ve been specifying Tessera’s carpet tiles for our clients’ projects and when it came to our own premises I was particularly impressed by Etch. As a purist I like the solid condensed colour of this carpet tile and I find the sophisticated textured effect of the cut and loop pile construction particularly seductive. The deep grey shade provides a neutral yet attractive visual base for contemporary fixtures and fittings we use ourselves and have on display to inspire our clients, such as our Herman Miller Abak Environment desking systems and Boss soft seating.”
He added: “We’re a complete interior solutions provider and offer a full turnkey operation. Our new premises therefore had to be multi-functional, providing a motivational work environment for our staff, a welcoming hospitality venue for clients and an effective showcase of our furnishing ideas. As with any other commercial interiors project, the floorcoverings had to be attractive, hardwearing and good value for money. Etch met our brief perfectly and we are very happy to recommend this distinctive carpet tile, and others from Tessera’s collection, to our clients.”
